Around 8 of us made the trip to Woodhall Spa today to help out Kevin, the Mid-Lincs warden for Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. We worked in their cattle shed enclosure and set to painting all metalwork we could see - and reach - that was coloured red oxide. We have helped with this task in previous years and so it was not difficult to see what bits of framework needed painting.
The only slight difficulty was bumping into the cows all the time and them coming and standing on our feet. Mid-morning Kevin made an executive decision to move the cows out and we made much better progress after that. (Sorry couldn’t resist that one! I’m trying to pad this report out a bit as I’m writing it a little after the event and also I forgot to take any pictures that day. I was going to refer you to our website report of when we went there and did the same thing in June 2023. I find however a report wasn’t done of that task!**)

So this is really just to say that we did go there and do the job, honest, and it was hot, we had biscuits at coffee and lunch break and all made it out in one piece. To make this report a little more exciting I have included a picture of a paint brush which was just like the ones we used on the day.

Look out for other equally exciting task reports of the work of our great group.
