9 of us gathered for today’s task - 6 members from our group, Sophie the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust warden and a father and daughter working toward the daughter’s Duke of Edinburgh bronze award.
We worked along both sides of a woodland ride cutting low branches off the trees at the edges to ‘raise the crown’. Doing this will bring more light into the edges of the wood and also takes out overhanging branches making it easier for machinery to move along in the summer months when cutting the ride.

It was a pleasant mild day, not much sun but when it did come out it was much appreciated, with people stopping to admire the beauty it brought into the trees and surrounding countryside.
