On Sunday we worked with Mary and Tom from Green Synergy at this wonderful community garden near the hospital. It was great to see  how much it had developed since we were here a year ago, with a lot more texture and colour and a large container on site as a workshop and store.

The main job for the day was to prepare the top area for wildflower seeding; in fact this turned out to be the only job for the day as it was much tougher than it appeared. Although the site had been cleared of vegetation, there were a lot of roots to dig out (mainly bramble) along with stones, rubble, metal bars, wire etc. We think it's ready for the seed now, although part of the area remains very stoney; the plants won't mind but it won't suit a mower.
