We had a good turnout of 12 volunteers, with the task being to help with the maintenance of Liqourice Park, Lincoln. Splitting into two groups we focused on willow weaving of the exisiting willow screen (which is used as a back screen for drama groups within Lincoln), and cutting back overgrown vegetation, in particular horseradish along the footpath by Yarborough Road.
It was lovely to see this area of Lincoln being used by the public, and we hope that keeping up with maintenance of the park will encourage more people to visit this hidden gem and its herb garden, which is run by 'Grow Lincoln' https://www.facebook.com/GrowLincolnUK/ and 'Friends of Liqourice Park' https://www.facebook.com/liquorice.park/ .
Other tasks included taking a fallen Leylandii tree off the compost heap and using the branches to add to the dead hedging surrounding the herb garden.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up, and for the detailed biscuit reviews on our tea break!
