We were welcomed by smashing weather and a well organised team from Nettleham Woodland Trust. It was such a pleasant day that two intrepid volunteers Shirley and Howard cycled to the task from Lincoln! Others of us lift shared to keep the number of cars to a minimum
We had a good variety of jobs to keep us amused: moving a heavy bench, creating better wheelchair access through a section of fencing, ditch digging, willow weaving of a living willow tunnel and some woodchip spreading. Our twelve volunteers combined with four from NWT set about our work.
At lunchtime we had a nice picnic style lunch seated around a circular table particularly well suited for such an occasion! Thanks to Nick who did the brew kit and of course to all volunteers who came along. |
Chris Williams sent a kind email thanking us all for our efforts on the day.
